Angry Birds reaches one billion downloads

This one is big. Rovio, the creator of Angry Birds, has announced that the original Angry birds game has been downloaded more than one billion times. This news comes back of the heels of Angry Birds sequel Angry Birds Space (PS: Angry Birds: Rio was not a sequel, was a movie tie-up), which was released in late March and is doing pretty well itself.

Angry Birds was originally launched in 2009 on iOS, but now is available on a wide array of platforms which include iOS, Android, Windows Phone, PlayStation 3, Mac, Windows, Symbian and a web based Chrome version of the game.
The game is well on its way to etched the minds of gamers for a long, long time just like people think of games like Mario, Zelda and Sonic the Hedgehog
