Apple had
begun working on the new iPhone, commonly called the iPhone 5, much
before launching the iPhone 4S last October. Jobs, who had taken his
final medical leave in January last year was closely involved in the
redesign. That should not come as a surprise considering he even
attended a top-level meeting prior to the launch of the iPhone 4S where
he tested Siri, a voice-command based assistant and one of the key
features introduced with the iPhone 4S. Jobs was absent during the
iPhone 4S launch announcement and passed away soon after.
