It took the Galaxy S III less than two months to reach 10 million units sales while the Galaxy S II had taken about five months. However, this 10 million figure is likely to include sales to carriers across the world and does not actually mean 10 million users. Nevertheless, the Galaxy S III is already turning out to be the most successful smartphone ever in Samsung’s history.
Samsung, which is also the world’s largest smartphone vendor, is likely to continue its dream run as Apple is expected to launch the next generation iPhone only later in October, which ensures the Galaxy S III’s reign at the top for at least another quarter. Analysts are predicting Galaxy S III numbers could top 40 million units this year.
