Just as we gear up for the launch of the rumored LG Nexus 4, images of a Sony smartphone have leaked which is flush with Google branding – a hallmark of a Nexus smartphone.
The images hail from the Picassa account of user Mutul Yeter and the EXIF data says that the images have been shot using the Galaxy Nexus and the album has been named the Sony Nexus X. While have known for some time that Google might partner with multiple OEMs for Nexus smartphones as it was indicated by a WSJ report earlier in the year but this is the first leaked image of the Sony Nexus device and it comes with a number of suspicious caveats.
Of the two images posted, one is of the homescreen which does not have the integrated Google Search bar. Additionally, the fact the design language is so similar to recent Xperia smartphones; it is quite possible that this could be a glorified fake.
But
if one is looking for clues in favor of the veracity of the device,
then we have quite a few. Like the Galaxy Nexus, it has a three pin dock
connector on the side and plus it does not have any Xperia branding
which would hint at the Nexus branding.Read
