Nokia India has also sent out invites for the launch of a new smartphone on October 23 in New Delhi, which it is calling a “Diwali gift to India.”
The Lumia 510 was spotted in the wild earlier this month in India and according to reports it could be priced at $150 or approximately Rs 8,000. It reportedly runs on Windows Phone 7.5 and has 4-inch display, 4GB of internal memory and only 256 MB of RAM. According to our sources at distribution and retail channels, the Lumia 610 has done much better than anticipated and has also helped increase sales of the slightly higher priced Lumia 710.
We will be on the ground covering the Lumia 510 launch event on Tuesday. Stay tuned for our first impressions.
