LG’s Nexus seen in the wild

Yesterday we reported that LG could be making a Nexus smartphone based on the recently announced Optimus G smartphone. It just happens that a gallery of images popped up on the XDA-Developers Forum related to a LG smartphone that looks strikingly close to the Optimus G and is running Jelly Bean.

More information about the device comes to light when one takes a look at the ‘About’ screen where it has been labeled as a Mako build. For those who don’t know Mako is a type of a shark and all Google Nexus branded phones have had builds named after fish. This is something the company does religiously, similar to its naming convention for Android, for which it names the builds after deserts.
If the device is based on the Optimus G then one can expect a real corker of device at least on the basis of the specs. The LG Optimus G has a 4.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels and uses in-cell technology. Additionally, it becomes one of the first Android smartphones to have the new Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 pro quad-core chip, which is clocked at 1.5GHz. Other features of the phone include a 13-megapixel camera, which utilizes Sony’s latest sensor, and a new 2,100 mAh developed by LG Chem that lasts longer and 2GB of RAM.
