Facebook testing new paid highlight feature

Facebook is reportedly testing a new highlight post feature which will allow users to highlight their posts on the social networking site for a nominal fee of $2 per post.  Stuff.co.nz filed this story and stated that a Facebook user in Whangarei stumbled upon the feature as Facebook trialled it, however the user assumed the feature to be a scam of sorts.
Later, Facebook spokeswoman Mia Garlick confirmed that the social networking giant was testing this feature. It has been further revealed that Facebook is testing the feature over a wide variety of price points including ‘Free’. So the trail audience is being asked to pay varied amounts, and in some cases nothing.
The person who spotted the feature said he was given the option of paying to highlight status updates and picture posts with a yellow background when he logged on to his Facebook page this morning.
