Foxconn chief hints at Apple’s iTV: Report

Many have been waiting for Apple’s foray into HDTV space, especially after reading Steve Jobs’ autobiography where he told Walter Isaacson that he had cracked the TV UI. All of us have been waiting for it but so far we are yet to see it, however in a recent interview with China Daily Today, Terry Gou, Chairman of Foxconn, Apple’s number one manufacturer has perhaps blown the whistle on the impeding launch of the Apple iTV.
He told the publication that his company was making massive preparations. Apparently, the device is believed to boast of a similar aluminum construction as Apple’s LED Cinema display, but also have voice recognition Siri and Facetime video chat built in.
It supposedly will also feature a near bezel-less design with a I/O port design similar to the Apple LED Cinema display. Its launch date is a bit of mystery as of now, however China Daily Today notes that the device may not arrive in 2012.
