Nokia has already announced that
India would be one of the first countries
where the PureView 808 will be launched. However, it is yet to reveal
the price or the launch date of the world’s first 41-megapixel camphone.
Now the eagle eyes at
Androsym have spotted the price in the
page source information of the PureView 808 listing on Nokia India’s
online store. Checking the source of the page, it looks like the
PureView 808 would be priced at Rs 29,999. This would come as a sigh of
relief to many who were looking forward to one of the best cameras we
have ever seen on a phone after the device was listed on Nokia’s Italy
website on
pre-order for over Rs 40,000!
UPDATE: Nokia India has reached out to us with a statement regarding the PureView 808′s pricing. Read on…

However,
things can change as Nokia has not yet officially announced the price
of the PureView 808 in India. Though with the listing up and a hidden
price tag, we can assume it will be launched in India any day now. Read
more about the PureView 808

UPDATE: Nokia India reached out to us to clarify the situation. The PureView 808 might not be priced at Rs 29,999 after all.
“On any website the source code has all elements the page will
display. If we have to show a certain element now or later we have to
put either actual value or dummy value on the page. In this case,
since we will announce the price at a later stage hence there is a
section which talks of the price in the source code and the same has a
dummy value, which will be replaced later. This dummy price is not a
reflection of the actual pricing of the product,” a Nokia India
spokesperson told
BGR India.
