Acer unveils the 11.6-inch Iconia W700 and 10.1 W510 Windows 8 tablets at Computex

As Computex begins today in Taiwan, the flood of Windows 8 devices also starts. Acer has taken the first leap with its 11.6-inch Iconia W700 tablet and 10.1-inch W510 Windows 8 convertible.
The 11.6-inch Iconia W700 tablet flaunts a full HD 1920×1080 pixels resolution display with touch support for ten fingers and also a cradle that positions the device at 70 degrees for landscape viewing and 20 degrees for touch use. Acer has armed the device with a whole of host of features such as 8-hours of battery life, Dolby home theater and three USB 3.0 ports. Acer seems to positioning this device as desktop replacement when paired up with a mouse and keyboard and claims that it is running an Intel Ivy Bridge processor under the hood, but the company is yet to specify which model. Regardless, this should give the Iconia W700 enough juice.
Apart from this, Acer also has a convertible or Transformer like tablet, which it calls the Iconia W510. This device features a full HD 10.1-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1280 pixels with three different use “modes,” including standard tablet style, docked with its detachable keyboard, and rotated 295 degrees from the dock in presentation mode. The Verge reports that Acer showed off this very presentation mode with a PowerPoint Presentation on stage. Notably, the user can coax up to 18 hours of battery life when used with the keyboard. Besides this, the device features a SIM card slot, MicroSD slot, MicroUSB and HDMI ports. The dock includes a full sized USB 2.0 port as well.No information regarding the processor spec has been revealed and it is expected that will be priced between $599 and $799.
