Asus announces Intel Medfield powered Tablet 810 running Windows 8

Just a couple of hours ago we reported on the Asus Tablet 600 running the ARM based Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor. It turns out Asus has another tablet called the Tablet 810, which runs the new Intel Atom Medfield processor.
Apart from the difference in the processor stack, this tablet features a slightly larger 11.6-inch Super IPS+ display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and runs Windows 8, unlike the Tablet 600 which runs Windows RT minus the legacy support for Win32 apps. Other features include, 2GB of RAM and support for a Wacom dual digitizer supporting a pen input.
Currently we cannot confirm if this device is using the same single core 1.6GHz Medfield chip powering the Lava Xolo X900, but we will find out soon enough. We suspect that the Tablet 810 will perhaps use a dual-core version of the Medfield chip, as Intel had earlier hinted at this, which should comfortably give the device enough firepower to run most legacy applications.
