RCom launches new 3G tablet for Rs 14,449

Reliance Communications (RCom) has launched a new version of its popular 3G tablet in India, which costs Rs 14,449. The new 3G tablet, now features a 7-inch display with resolution of 1024×600 pixels and boasts a 5-point touch display. Additionally, RCom has beefed up the processing chops of the tablet by adding a faster 1.4GHz single-core processor and 512MB of RAM, which is the double of what the previous Reliance tab offered. Even the camera has been upgraded to a cool 3-megapixels and also offers a front facing camera. As always, the new 3G tab will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
As with the previous Reliance 3G Tablet, the new 3G tab is a means for the company to increase its 3G subscriber base across the country. The carrier is sweetening the deal for consumers by bundling benefits worth Rs 6,250, which includes 3GB of data for 3 months, 3 months of free video calling for local and STD to Reliance 3G, voice rental for 12 months (Postpaid) along with global calling worth Rs. 250, 1 year subscription on McAfee Mobile Security, 2 months subscription to BigFlix and a 4GB microSD card.
The Reliance tab will come preloaded with all Google applications one has come accustomed to using on most Android devices in the market along with ‘Documents to Go’ productivity suite for free.
