At the moment Apple hasn’t asked any Indian carrier to place orders for Nano SIM cards. Our sources tell us the lead period between placing orders and getting Nano SIM cards is eight weeks. This means the iPhone 5 is unlikely to be available in October here. We are told that Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 5 in India close to Diwali, which falls on November 13. None of our sources could confirm the actual India launch date at this time.
Considering Apple releases its products in the market on a Friday, we would reckon the best chance would be to launch it on November 9 that happens to be the Friday before Diwali. Mind you, we cannot confirm the launch date just yet and this is just our calculation.
