Sharp facing production delays in relation to iPhone screen: WSJ

Sharp is facing production delays with the display of the iPhone 5 display reports the Wall Street Journal. Sharp is reportedly having issues with production because of the complexity of the technology at hand. Having said that, the iPhone itself will not be delayed as LG Display and Japan Display have already begun manufacturing the display for the next iPhone.

The next iPhone is rumoured to use in-cell technology and LG has already shown a variant of this technology in the recently announced Optimus G, which leveraged technology from LG’s subsidiaries. Apart from this, Apple is expected to unveil the next iPhone on September 12, but is yet to send out invites for the event.
