Rovio announces Bad Piggies, the successor to Angry Birds, to launch game on 27 September

Finnish developer Rovio has announced a new game called Bad Piggies that will be the successor to popular the Angry Birds franchise. For those who don’t know the Bad Piggies are the green villainous Pigs we all have geo up against in Angry Birds and the new game will focus on them.
Rovio is saying that it will release the iOS, Mac and Android versions of the game on September 27 and it has also stated that it is indeed working on Windows RT, Windows PC and Windows Phone 8 versions of the game.
Rovio is ditching the slingshot mechanics of Angry Birds and is gunning for a completely new perspective with Bad Piggies. Rovio is already hinting towards the new gameplay mechanics in the official teaser trailer. It seems like the Pigs will jump and trample the Angry Birds, similar to the way iconic Mario disposes off his enemies, in Nintendo’s gaming icon.
Previously in July, Rovio unveiled Amazing Alex which was a contraption based puzzle game and it was the company’s first foray outside of the Angry Birds franchise in years. Before Amazing Alex, Rovio released the third Angry Birds game, Space in April which hit 10 million downloads in just three days.
