Google giveth then taketh paid app privilege from Indian app developers on Google Play

A few days ago, Google had added India to the list of countries that can have developers making paid apps, but now it seems that the company has retracted its original decision.
Google is yet to provide some clarity on the issue, but it could either be an case of a mistaken addition or Google could have run into some regulatory issues at the last minute.
Developers in the meantime remain disheartened as platforms like iOS and Windows allow for developers to have paid applications in their stores. In fact only this weekend Microsoft hosted an app development marathon in Bangalore for 18 hours which resulted in a Guinness Book of World for the longest coding marathon ever.
It is pretty apparent that India is a prospective hotbed for bourgeoning app developers and Microsoft for one is definitely trying to milk this home for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. Google on the other hand is not doing so much. If Google does offer paid apps for Google Play made by Indian developers based in India, it will be a huge fillip for the developer ecosystem in India, and who knows maybe something unique may just land up for users on Android.
