Karbonn and Innominds unveil Agnee, the first made in India 3G tablet


Karbonn and Innominds have collaborated to launch the Agnee tablet, which happens to be the first, made in India 3G tablet. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the Agnee is based on the Qualcomm Technologies Reference Design.

Apparently, Innominds designed the tablet completely in-house leveraging the Qualcomm Reference design and it has made three models – L, M and H with different specifications.
The L model has 7-inch 5-point touch WVGA capacitive display, a 1GHz Snapdragon S1 processor, 3G HSPA connectivity, a 4,000-mAh battery, a 1.3-megapixel front camera HDMI connectivity and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Additionally it has 512MB of RAM and 4GB of eMMC memory.
The M model will be available in 7 and a 10-inch variant with qHD resolutions and it runs a dual-core Snapdragon processor. It has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of eMMC memory, 3G HSPA connectivity, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a 5-megapixel rear camera, HDMI connectivity a 4,000 mAh battery and it runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The top-end H model will also come in 7 and 10-inch models, but these will have 720p resolutions. It also runs on a dual-core Snapdragon processor, with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of eMMC memory. It also has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera, but unlike the M model it can shoot 720p video at 30 FPS. On the connectivity front it supports 3G HSPA networks and supports HDMI and USB 2.0 connectivity. As far as the battery is concerned it has a rather middling 4,000-mAh battery and runs on Android 4.0.
Pricing will be announced soon and Karbonn is targeting a Diwali launch for the Agnee tablets.
