Microsoft Surface RT 32GB variant available for unofficial pre-order on eBay for Rs 38,490

It has been only two days since Microsoft has revealed the pricing of the highly anticipated Surface RT tablet and we already have it up for pre-order on eBay.in which is
offering the tablet for Rs 38,490. Mind you, this not an official release as Microsoft itself has only opened pre-orders in eight countries and India is not among them. Additionally, the model on offer is the base 32GB model, which is without the vaulted Touch Cover.
The eBay.in listing clearly states that it is a direct import from the US and the pre-order ships from November 2. However, there are some caveats to this as the listing states that time extension will be requested as soon as the order is received. Frankly, only a brave man will go for this offer because firstly, the price is wildly inflated at Rs 38,490 when the actual US retail price is $499 (Rs 26,766). Secondly, there is still is no clarity when the product will actually ship to the customer.
As far as the specs go, the Surface RT tablet features a 10.6-inch ClearType display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels, a Nvidia T30 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a USB port, a VaporMag exoskeleton, a microSDX card reader, twin 720p cameras and a rated battery life of up to 8 hours.
However it runs on the new Windows RT OS, which is basically tailored for ARM chips hence, it will eschew support for known Windows x86 applications and will only support Win RT apps available through the Windows Store. That said, it will come preloaded with a preview of Office RT Home and Student editions and will get updated for free when Office 2013 hits general availability next year.
