Samsung Galaxy S III Mini could be unveiled on October 11

Samsung could announce the Galaxy S III Mini on October 11 at a press event in Frankfurt. AllAboutSamsung has received an invite for the event, which has the ‘S’ motif from the Galaxy S III and cryptic clues, which translate into something to the tune of “something small to make it big” and “small is now a big hit.”
Earlier, it was thought that Samsung would launch some music offering but these clues indicate it could be the Galaxy S III Mini instead.
Soon after the launch of the Galaxy S III, Samsung was rumored to be preparing the Galaxy S III Mini to bring the Galaxy S III franchise at a lower price point and bank upon the marketing budgets spent on the flagship product. Apple does the same in a different manner when it slashes the price of previous generation iPhones at the launch of the latest version.
The Galaxy S III Mini is expected to sport a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) Super AMOLED display, a 5-megapixel camera and a dual-core processor. We think it would compete with the iPhone 4, which has been slashed to Rs 28,300 and will likely have a sub-Rs 25,000 price-point to take on competing Android smartphones from Sony and HTC.
Samsung is also preparing another smartphone, the Galaxy S II Plus, which could feature a 4.5-inch WVGA AMOLED display, a 8-megapixel camera, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM. In all probability, Samsung would price it sub-Rs 30,000. This would ensure Samsung has three competing products, including the Galaxy S III, to cover the Rs 20,000 – Rs 35,000 price bracket of Android smartphones.
