Samsung to launch Galaxy Camera in India next month

Apart from the Galaxy Note II, Samsung has also announced that it will be launching the Android Jelly Bean powered Galaxy Camera in India next month near Diwali time. It has a 16-megapixel sensor with a f/2.8 aperture and 23mm-480mm lens that has 21x of optical zoom.

The Galaxy Camera packs in some serious firepower and it packs in a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, the very same one powering the Galaxy S III, and also has 4.8-inch S-LCD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels totaling to 308 pixels per inch. The camera also supports 3G connectivity via a micro-SIM but it does not work as a phone.
Samsung has loaded a number of proprietary photography tools to make editing experience more useful. Features like auto cloud backup, Best group pose, Smart Pro mode just highlight what Samsung aims to achieve with such a camera. Of course, one can even hunt for apps on the Google Play store and one can easily find the likes of Instagram.
Samsung in an unusual move decided only to add a micro-SD card slot and not a traditional SD card slot. Photographers will definitely not enjoy this move as, micro-SD cards are known to be much slower than SD cards. Apart from this the camera also has 1,650 mAh battery that Samsung claims can last up to seven hours.
We are sure that Samsung is gunning for the throat of the recently launched Nikon S800c Android camera. If one was just looking at the specs, then we would say the Galaxy Camera blows away the Nikon S800c, but then again the proof of the pudding is in the testing.
