Sony rolls out Android 4.0 ICS update for Xperia go, Xperia U & Xperia sola

Sony has been one of the few companies that has delivered on its promise of providing regular updates to its Android smartphones. After updating the Xperia S and Xperia P, Sony is now rolling out Android ICS 4.0 update for the Xperia go, Xperia U and Xperia sola. Users will have to connect their devices to a PC or a Mac as it does not seem to be an OTA update.

The Android ICS update will improve the standby times of the devices, Sony claims. It will also enable resizable widgets, an improved lock screen and a Sony media application for accessing music, movies and songs apart from regular Android ICS feature updates.
Xperia sola users will also get a “glove mode” that will enable them to use the touchscreen without having to remove their gloves. Nokia demonstrated a similar feature in the Lumia 920 but the device will only be available later in November.
