Apple iPhone 5 sold out in India: WSJ

The Apple iPhone 5 only arrived in India on Friday, November 2, but if a WSJ report is to be believed then it is already sold out as of today. According to the report only 10,000-15,000 units were shipped to India for the first round of sales and it appears Apple has sold out
the stock.
The report quotes Himanshu Chakravarti, the CEO of retailer the Mobile Store who claimed that his company had sold out the iPhone 5 in the first 24 hours. That said, we have seen Airtel selling units even on Sunday, November 4.
Apart from this, there has been a relative shortage of the white iPhone 5. Some retailers, Airtel included have only been selling the black model, that too in only 16GB of storage. The 32GB and 64GB models also were not readily available at launch.
