Apple Store goes down before WWDC, new Macs incoming

A sure sign of new Apple hardware being introduced, Apple’s online store is now down. This can mean only one thing – we are certainly going to witness new hardware launch(es) at WWDC, an otherwise software oriented event aimed at developers. The rumormill is betting at new Mac hardware, including new MacBook Pros and Mac Pros running on the latest Intel Ivy Bridge processors. There might be some MacBook Pro variants that will feature a slimmer footprint by removing the optical drive and trade it for a Retina display.
There is no concrete word on whether Apple will announce new MacBook Airs but there is no reason why it shouldn’t. The real question is how Apple prices the new gear with Retina displays. Will you be willing to pay extra just to get a higher resolution display? If so, how much? Apple could also showcase some Mac-related accessories.
On the software side, Apple will showcase iOS 6 in beta for developers for the first time as well as release the commercial version of Mountain Lion, its latest version of Mac OS X. We will be bringing you all the action from WWDC. Stay tuned.
