HTC
is teasing what seems to be a Siri-like voice assistant running on its
One Series devices. This photo, which the Taiwanese smartphone vendor
posted on its Facebook page, shows a dog interacting with the unnamed
service. HTC gives a disclaimer that it won’t actually understand dogs,
but it can be taken for granted that HTC would introduce a voice
assistant very soon. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering
Samsung has S-Voice (licensed from Vlingo) and LG is also reported to be
deploying a similar service, though only in Korea for the moment. What
remains to be seen is how efficient HTC’s service turns out to be as we
are hearing Apple is going to make Siri smarter with iOS 6.
