The 9.3mm thick tablet has a full USB 2.0 port as well as a built-in kickstand. It also comes with a 3 mm thin cover that doubles up as a multi-touch keyboard, complete with a multi-touch trackpad. It hooks on to the Surface via a magnetic connector. It will run on ARM architecture chipset.
The Surface will come on both Intel and ARM chipsets, with Microsoft Office pre-installed. The Intel version will run Windows 8 Pro and will be under 14 mm thick. It will also be made of the same materials as the ARM variant and will come with the same accessories. It will come with perimeter venting, which means that the air vents won’t be blocked by the user’s hands or when it is in use.
It comes with a stylus pen that attaches itself to an edge of the Surface with magnets. The display has two digitizers – for hand input and digital ink input. As soon as the display senses digital ink (stylus), it stops recognizing hand input, which makes it easier to use the pen input.
