Nokia counting down to June 6 to launch PureView 808 in India

Nokia counting down to June 6 to launch PureView 808 in IndiaNokia India is finally gearing up to launch the PureView 808 in India or so it seems from their countdown page. Spotted by our friends at Unleashthephones, the page is currently counting down to a possible June 6 launch. There are no indications of pricing or any pre-bookings at the moment but we won’t be surprised if Nokia starts that in a couple of days.
The PureView 808 has a 41-megapixel camera sensor that oversamples seven pixels into one and gives the best photo results we have seen on a camphone ever. Unfortunately, it runs on Symbian operating system, but that does not seem to be a deal breaker for the Nokia faithful.
The phone has seen some false starts, the latest being its “dummy” price getting accidentally published on Nokia’s online store. Nokia had made a global announcement last month stating the PureView 808 will be launched in May starting from India and Russia. To be frank, we don’t care about a week’s delay. All we want to know is the price so we can probably replace our standard point-and-shoot camera with this beast of a thing.
