With Nokia Drive powering the mapping application in Windows Phone 8, users will have access to free turn by turn navigation in over 110 countries and along this users will also have access to offline maps, somethings that’s not available on the highly popular Google Maps on iOS and Android.
Nokia claims its location service to be the most wide spread in the world and it outlines some of the key features of Nokia Drive.
- Maps data for 190 countries in 50 languages including turn by turn navigation in 110 countries.
- Information is collected from Nokia Drive users and local authorities to provide traffic alerts in 26 countries, and also allowing dynamic rerouting.
- Venue Maps for 5,000 shopping malls, train stations, airport, sports venues, etc. in 35 countries
- Support for multi-modal routing: by car, on foot (including footpaths, shortcuts, etc. in over 400 cities) and by public transportation (over 100 cities)
