Samsung Galaxy Note II to arrive in October with unbreakable plane display: Report

With the Galaxy S III out of the way, it is now time to focus on Samsung’s next big thing – the Galaxy Note II, of course. Earlier in January we had exclusively reported about Samsung’s plans for its Galaxy flagship products, which included the Galaxy Note II India launch pegged for the third quarter along with the Galaxy S III launch in May. We followed it up with another exclusive about the Galaxy Note II featuring a larger display. News trickling in from Korea today seems to confirm all of that. Read on for details.
The Verge, citing Korea’s MK Business News is reporting that the Galaxy Note successor is on track for an October launch and would feature an unbreakable plane display, which is a notch below flexible displays. The source also seems to confirm a larger display than the existing Galaxy Note, which in our opinion would be possible by thinning down the bezel just like Samsung did with the Galaxy S III. However, Samsung has not killed the home button, yet, as it was reported to be contemplating earlier, which makes us a little skeptical about it sporting a 5.9-inch display as we had earlier reported.
A recent leak had indicated that the Galaxy Note II could feature a 5.5-inch retina busting display with a 1680×1050 pixels resolution, giving it an insane 360ppi pixel density. It is also tipped to utilize a dual-core Exynos 5250 processor, which runs on ARM 15 architecture that would provide better power and performance efficiency. It is also expected to have 1.5GB of RAM, though it is not clear at the moment whether it will run Android ICS or a newer version of Android called Jelly Bean, which Google is expected to unveil later this month.
It is also not clear whether the Galaxy Note II would feature a 8-megapixel or 12-megapixel camera – the previous report says 8-megapixels but the latest one indicating a 12-megapixel camera. Well, we expect it all to be revealed at IFA, which takes place in Berlin in September. Stay tuned.
