Rumor has it: Samsung to launch Galaxy S III Mini, Galaxy S II Plus later this year

Samsung could be preparing to launch variants of the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy S II to take on the iPhone 4S later this year when its price is dropped after the introduction of the next generation iPhone. Samsung is known to launch multiple variants of the same device and this would be nothing out of the ordinary as it has launched ‘Mini’ and ‘Plus’ variants of other phones too. The Galaxy S III Mini is expected to sport a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) Super AMOLED display, a 5-megapixel camera and a dual-core processor. The Galaxy S II Plus, on the other hand could feature a 4.5-inch WVGA AMOLED display, a 8-megapixel camera, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM.
From the specs, it looks like the Galaxy S II Plus would be priced higher than the Galaxy S III Mini. We will keep our eyes peeled for more details and confirmation of these two smartphones.
