Additionally, Dropbox is also adding a 500GB option for its pro users. Previously, only a 1TB and beyond storage option was available that too for only its teams plan. Clearly, this move is aimed at offering storage options that are more competitive with Google Drive and Microsoft Skydrive both of which are perhaps, Dropbox’s most fierce competitors. Despite this dramatic bump in space, Dropbox still cannot compete with Google Drive or Microsoft Skydrive on the basis of sheer pricing.
Google Drive offers a 100GB plan for just $4.99 per month and it charges just $9.99 per month for 200GB of storage. Microsoft Skydrive turns out to be even more economical as it offers 125GB of storage for just $50 per year and it also has a 75GB plan for just $25 per year, however, currently Skydrive does not offer greater storage capacities, which is the only thing that goes in the favor of Dropbox.
