Harman and Kardon launch CL headphones for Rs 9,990

Harman and Kardon have launched their CL headphones in India for Rs 9,990. The CL headphones sport a similar aviator design to the Bowers and Wilkins P5 headphones and are iPhone and iPod compliant via a line-in remote for controlling the volume, audio playback and phone calls.

Harman and Kardon claim to provide better low-end bass response than the competition through an uniquely design sound baffle. Baffle’s are loudspeaker enclosures that are used to nullify out of phase sounds from the rear of the loudspeaker. Theoretically, this kind of a design can improve sound isolation within the ears and reduce leakage of sound, hence maximising the experience.
The CL headphones also have user exchangeable bows and self adjusting housings and soft leather cups coupled with a slow retention ear cup foam for overall comfort. This way, like the Bowers and Wilkins P5, the CL headphones should also be able to achieve passive noise cancellation.
Harman and Kardon have also incorporated dedicated bass tube functions, for an enhanced bass response even at higher volumes. This should definitely catch the fancy of Indian sound-horns who generally prefer bass-heavy Bollywood music.
Borrowing another feature from the B&W P5′s playbook, it also has a 2D folding mechanism and can be flat-folded inside the premium carrying case that comes with the package. Additionally, Harman and Kardon claims to have provided heavy gauge cables for better signal transfers and durability.
