Microsoft details Office 2013 pricing


Microsoft has detailed the price structure for Office 2013, including the subscription model that even includes Office 365. Notably, the subscription versions of Office 2013, will come under the Office 365 branding umbrella.

The Home Premium version of Office 365 will be offered for $8.33 per month which boils down to $99.99 per year. Users will be able to use all Office applications including Outlook and this version will be platform agnostic and users will be able to use it over five PCs or Macs. Microsoft is also throwing in 60 minutes of free Skype world calling per month, 20GB of SkyDrive storage and for Windows users there will be an Office on-demand feature that will allow users to stream a copy of Office directly to a Windows 8 or Windows 7 machine.
The Home and Business edition of the Office 365 subscription will start at $12.50 per month or $149.99 per year. It will include access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, and Publisher plus Lync. As with the Home and Student edition users will be able to use it over five PCs or Macs. Users will have access to a 25GB Outlook mailbox, and 10GB of professional grade cloud storage in addition to 500MB of storage per user. Users will be able to host meetings, share screens and have HD video conferences.
The standard boxed versions of Office – Home and Student edition, Home and Business edition and a Professional edition. The Home and Student edition will start at $139.99 and will include Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote. The Home and Business edition will start at $219.99 and will include Outlook in addition to all the apps in the Home and Student version.
Finally, the Professional edition of Office will further add the Access and Publisher apps and it will ship for $399.99.
People who buy Office 2010 for Windows or Office 2011 for Mac after October 19 will be eligible for a free download upgrade to Office 2013. Additionally, it is worth noting that the Publisher, Access and OneNote apps are PC only and are not supported on the Mac.
