Samsung has announced a 128GB eMMC Pro NAND Flash drive for smartphones and tablets. This will not only improve the storage capacity of mobile devices, but Samsung claims it is based off a DDR 2.0 high-speed NAND flash.
It will have a continuous read speed at140MB/ second and write at 50MB/second. This is five times faster than class 10 rated external memory cards that usually found in smartphones.
Previously, Samsung had announced 32GB and 64GB variants of the eMMC Pro NAND flash, but now the memory capacity rivals that of some of the SSD drive equipped UltraBooks.
