Apple’s partners have announced today that the iPhone 5 will be available in India on November 2 just like BGR India exclusively reported earlier this week. However, the pricing has not been confirmed, but is expected to start from slightly over Rs
45,000. Today Apple also introduced app pricing in Indian Rupees in its App Store. Earlier this month Apple slashed prices of the iPhone 4S to Rs 38,500 and the iPhone 4 to Rs 26,500 in preparation for the iPhone 5 launch.
According to a statement issued by Ingram Micro, “it will offer [the] iPhone 5 at leading modern trade and retail outlets across India, beginning Friday, November 2.” The statement does not mention any pricing.
We have been exclusively breaking news about the iPhone 5 India launch and were the first to report Apple’s plans to distribute the iPhone 5 on its own rather than relying on Airtel and Aircel as well as carriers introducing Nano SIMs in time for iPhone 5 launch. Apple has appointed Ingram Micro and Redington as its distribution partners.
The iPhone 5 features a new thinner design with a larger display and anodized aluminum back.
