Google Doodles the author of Dracula, Bram Stoker, on his 165th birth anniversary

Google today is celebrating Bram Stoker on his 165th birth anniversary who was born on November 8, 1847 in Clontarf, Ireland. Bram Stoker was an Irish novelist who defined the gothic genre and was the author of Dracula. The doodle also takes inspiration from the cover
of the first edition Dracula that was first published in 1897.
The doodle portrays a scene where Dracula is draped in a cloak of sorts and he is menacingly baring his fangs at the crescent moon that appears behind the castle set on the Carpathian Mountains. We can even see Dracula’s favorite shape shifting forms as files into the night sky as a bat. Other characters are also portrayed in the doodle and the letters that make up ‘Google’ are written in blood red.
As a child Stoker was bedridden till the age of seven and he even went on to even become an athlete. Eventually Stoker developed an affinity for theater and then later turned to fiction. His first book was published in 1879, which was a legal administration handbook.
In 1890 he published ‘Snakes Pass’ which was just seven years before Dracula, which is widely considered to be his masterpiece. To date Dracula is considered to be an icon in the gothic/horror genre.
In the 80’s the original 541-page manuscript of Dracula was found, which actually had a handwritten title called ‘The Un-Dead’. Later, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen purchased it.
At the age of 64, Stoker passed away on April 20 1912 after suffering from a series of strokes in London.
