One
constant criticism of Windows Phone Metro applications is the lack of
features in comparison to competing platforms such as iOS and Android.
Perhaps, the biggest culprit of this has been the official Twitter app
on the platform. Twitter has finally taken some steps to mitigate this
issue as now the Windows Phone version of the app supports
notifications, suggested users, top tweets, trending topics and maps
show what’s happening everywhere.
Perhaps, Twitter was just lazy considering it is already baked in to the Windows Phone people hub, but many popular Twitter features are not available from the Twitter integration. Additionally, it was imperative that Twitter beefed up its official client on the platform considering, the dearth of a worthy third party client for Windows Phone.
