Nokia PureView 808 launched in India for Rs 29,999 [update]

It is finally here! The world’s best camera on a phone has been launched in India for Rs 29,999. The Nokia PureView 808 is now available from Nokia’s online store, albeit only in black color at the moment. The Symbian running smartphone features a massive 41-megapixel sensor with Carl Zeiss optics that churns out stunning 5-megapixel shots with unprecedented details. Nokia’s PureView technology uses pixel oversampling to condense information from up to seven pixels into one offering unparalleled image quality.

We had first reported the pricing of the PureView 808 earlier this month but Nokia denied it being true. While the PureView’s camera quality is top notch, we cannot say the same about the Symbian platform. It remains to be seen how many people bite the bait and pick it up. Will you?
