Asus
today showcased the Taichi at Computex in Taipei and boy this is one
unique piece of hardware powered by Microsoft’s spanking new Windows 8
and features two IPS displays. The device will hit the markets in two
models – 11.6-inches and 13.3-inches. Asus says that with one side, the
device can be used like a traditional laptop with a keyboard and
trackpad, but once you flip it over you can use it like a Windows 8
tablet.

Asus
has clarified that both displays will be independent of each other so
that there is no duplication of content and both displays will use Super
IPS technology with full 1080p resolutions. The company claims that
these Taichi notebooks are as slim as its ZENBOOK line of UltraBooks and
are powered by third generation Intel Ivy Bridge processors, SSD
storage and dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi. There is no word on availability or
pricing at the moment.
