HTC launches the Desire C Android smartphone in India for Rs 14,999

HTC has launched the dual-sim Desire C in India, which runs Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 4.0 and costs Rs 14,999. The Desire C sports a 3.5-inch display with a HVGA resolution, a 600MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel camera, Beats Audio, a MicroSD card slot, 25GB of free DropBox storage for two years and a 1,230 mAh battery. The device also features a full suite of sensors. HTC also says that the device will have a NFC enabled variant.
Just a few hours ago we posted a story relating to the launch of two new iBall smartphones, which also feature similar specs and dual-sim capabilities, but those two devices have a much cheaper sticker price albeit without the latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich. Besides this, even Spice has launched its Stellar series of devices and these devices are also cheaper than the Desire C, so it will be interesting to see how the Desire C fares against its competition, which admittedly has the leg up in terms of price.
