PureView 808 available on Nokia Store hours before India launch for Rs 33,899

Nokia’s much-awaited PureView 808 is finally here in India. While Nokia is scheduled to host an official press conference in New Delhi in 12 hours from now to launch the phone, it is already available on Nokia India’s online store. According to the listing, the MRP of the PureView 808 will be Rs 34,999 while it would be available for Rs 33,899. The store shows it out of stock but we understand users can pre-book it for Rs 1,000.
The PureView 808 probably has the best camera we have ever seen on a smartphone. Touting a massive 41-megapixel camera sensor, Nokia uses over-sampling technology that merges seven pixels into one, giving unprecedented quality in 5-megapixel shots. The large sensor also captures more details than one would expect from a camera phone. Heck, we are already calling it our point-and-shoot camera replacement after playing with it for a few hours. It also captures excellent videos and Nokia is making noise about its Dolby Surround Sound technology while capturing audio and playback.
It runs on Nokia’s Belle platform and sports a 4-inch VGA display, which is not at par with what we are used to using on flagship smartphones. It also has 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot. Of course, it has most connectivity options like Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G and even an FM transmitter.
So what do you think about the PureView 808′s pricing?
