Google restores GTalk for some users

Google has announced it has restored GTalk services for some users after a worldwide outage earlier today. While it has not been able to find the cause of the outage, the online search giant says it is working towards complete restoration of services.
“Google Talk service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change,” the company said in a statement moments ago.
Users started experiencing issues with their GTalk services today afternoon with most not being able to access the IM client while others could log in but not see their contacts. The cause of the outage is yet to be determined. The outage has affected users globally. It is not the first time for a Google service to face a worldwide outage. Earlier this June, Google suffered a severe Gmail outage that too affected users worldwide.
We will be keeping a track of the situation and will provide updates as and when we hear from Google.
