One commonality between Windows Phone and iOS is that neither supports Bluetooth file transfer protocol, which prohibits users from sharing files via Bluetooth.
This is has been a thorn for many users especially the ones coming from Symbian where sharing files was so easy. Now Nokia has enabled this functionality in its Lumia smartphones including those running on Windows Phone 7.5.
Some of the new updates in store for the current generation of Lumia phones include Cinemagraph, Smart Group Shot, the new Windows Phone 8 Start Screen, a Ringtone maker app and Contact sharing over Bluetooth. Later Nokia is also bringing exclusive applications like Zynga’s Words with friends and Draw Something.
While Nokia will be bringing Bluetooth file transfer to its phones, it remains to be seen if this feature will be available to other non-Nokia Windows Phone devices.
