While Apple has already unveiled the iPhone 5 and its new iPod range, the one product that remains and is rumored is the iPad mini. Today, Fortune is reporting that it has heard from some un-named people who invest in Apple that the company will send out invites for the event on October 10.
If one extrapolates the this then one can expect an unveil for Wednesday, October 17 on the basis of Apple’s general conventions and the product will hit the shelves on Friday, November 2.
Of course, now that the iPhone 5 is out of the way, the next big Apple product in line is the rumored iPad mini and it only obvious that rumors are getting more rampant.
The iPad mini is expected have a 7.85-inch display with resolution of 1024×768 pixels and a dual-core A5 processor. In a nutshell, we can expect the innards of the iPad 2, just in a smaller shell and a slightly smaller screen but with the same resolution which should make text a lot more crisper. The price of the tablet is expected to be between $200 and $300, with the sole aim of destroying the Android competition.
It’s worth noting that for once the new tablet will not be a lone ranger like the original iPad. It will enter a booming 7-inch tablet market which currently is dominated by the formidable Google Nexus 7 which runs Android Jelly Bean and the new Amazon Kindle Fire HD which will have the backing of Amazon’s unmatched content ecosystem.
