Indian mobile handset sales top 100 million units in Q2: Cyber Media

 
According to a study conducted by Cyber Media mobile phone sales in India crossed the 100 million threshold in Q2 of 2012. 102.43 million units were sold. During the same period, smartphone sales stood at 5.50 million units.
Nokia continued its dominance in the feature phone space with a
market share of 22.2 percent closely followed by Samsung and Micromax both which had a share of 13 and 5.5 percent respectively.
In the smartphone market Android reasserted its dominance at 56.6 percent share, followed by Symbian, which had a share of 17.4 percent, BlackBerry which had a share of 12.1 percent, iOS with a share of 3.0 percent and Windows Phone which has a share of 2.6 percent.
Samsung proved to be the dominant smartphone brand with a share of 41.6 percent followed by Nokia at 19.2 percent and RIM with a share of 12.1 percent.
