Riots break in Foxconn factory in China: Report


A Foxconn factory in the Chinese city of Taiyuan is reportedly seeing a massive disturbance in the form of a riot reports CNBC. China’s micro-blogging service Weibo shows pictures of police surrounding the factory premises clad in riot like gear, some photos suggest an overturned guard tower.

Engadget is also reporting that the rioting broke out when a security guard allegedly assaulted a worker at around 10PM. At the moment Chinese censors are in overdrive mode and are actively deleting content related to the incident.
Foxconn is the manufacturer Apple depends for the manufacturing of the iPhone and the iPad. At the moment it is not known weather the facility in question was involved in the construction of Apple products or the iPhone 5 in particular.
