Rumor has it: Next version of Android coming this month on LG’s Nexus phone

Earlier in the year Google unveiled Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but it did not release a new Nexus branded smartphone, instead opting for a 7-inch tablet made by Asus.
Android and Me is reporting that Google plans on releasing another update codenamed Android 4.2, accompanied with a LG made Nexus smartphone based on the recently released Optimus G. Even CNET has confirmed this as it says the new device will appear later this month.
If the LG Nexus phone is based on the Optimus G, we can expect it to run on a 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 Pro quad-core processor and a 4.7-inch IPS+ in-cell display with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels. The Optimus G also has a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera and 2GB of RAM. It also sports a 2100mAh battery, which according to LG offers 60 percent better performance thanks to a new technology developed by LG Chem.
Earlier in the year WSJ has reported that Google plans on introducing multiple Nexus branded smartphones made by different OEMs.  It has also been reported that the next version of Android will be called Key Lime Pie. Apart from LG, a Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 is also rumored, which will flaunt a similar hardware design as the Galaxy Nexus but will have upgraded internals including an 8-megapixel camera and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
