
Microsoft
has just launched Windows 8 globally, but along with the operating
system, the company has announced that there will be 250 new products
built by the OEMs
that will be available in retail outlets tomorrow
morning. Along with this, the company has also released a list of
product that it calls ‘hero devices’ that will be available. Read on to

Asus Transformer TF600 VivoRT

The
VivoRT is a Windows RT tablet/laptop hybrid. As it is based on an ARM
based Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor it only runs applications from
the Windows Store. Additionally comes with an attachable keyboard, which
has a myriad of connectivity ports and a battery. It has a 10.1-inch
Super IPS display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels, NFC, 2GB of RAM
and starts with 32GB of storage. It has an estimated price of Rs 54,990.
Dell XPS 12 Duo

Powered
by an Intel i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, the Dell XPS 12
Duo follows the hybrid route. It also has a 12.5-inch display with a
resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. It has a estimated price of Rs 104,990.
Lenovo Yoga

Back
at CES in January, the Yoga was perhaps the first hybrid, which was
actually designed keeping Windows 8 in mind. It derives its name from
its rotatable display, which can even be framed in the downward dog Yoga
position. Hardware wise we are looking at a premium UltraBook which has
a 12-inch touch display with 10-multitouch points, 8 hours of battery
life, an Intel core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD storage. It
has an estimated price of Rs 79,990.
Samsung Series 7 tablet

The
Samsung Series 7 tablet is actually the tablet Microsoft distributed to
developers when it released the developer preview of Windows 8 in
September 2011. It features UltraBook class specs with an 11.6-inch
display, an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a
microSD card reader. It has an estimated price of Rs 75,000.
Acer Aspire S7-391

The
Acer Aspire S7 UltraBook was one of the first Windows 8 notebooks to be
unveiled. It features a super slim form-factor and it has a 13.3-inch
multi-touch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, Intel i5
processor, 4GB of RAM, and 256 GB of memory. It has an estimated price
of Rs 92,999.
Acer Aspire S7-191

The
Aspire S7-191 is basically an 11.6-inch variant of the Aspire S7-391.
It also has a touch display with a 1080p resolution, an Intel Core i5
processor, and 4GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It has an estimated
price of Rs 88,499.
Dell XPS 13

The
Dell XPS 13 is basically the same model that is currently available in
the market, but this time around it runs Windows 8. Specs wise it has an
Intel second-generation i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 256 GB of storage
and a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. It has an
estimated price of Rs 104,990.
Dell XPS 14

Like
the XPS 13, the XPS 14 is basically the current generation model
running Windows 8. Features wise it has an Intel core i7 processor, 8GB
of RAM, 128GB of SSD storage, and a 14-inch display. It has an estimated
price of Rs 108,490.
HP Envy 14

The
HP Envy 14 is yet another UltraBook that will be available in the
stores tomorrow running Windows 8. It runs on an Intel Core i5
processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD storage, a 1.3-megapixel web camera
and will have a 13.3-inch display. It will have an estimated cost of Rs
64,990.
Lenovo U310

The
U310 is another product that has been in the market for sometime. With
the launch of the new operating system it is getting upgraded with
Windows 8. It runs on an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 500 GB
hard drive and has a 15-inch display. It has an estimated price of Rs
52,990.
Lenovo U510

Like
the U310, the U510 also has a 15-inch display, an Intel core i5
processor, 4GB of RAM, but it receives a bump in hard drive space at
1TB. It has an estimated price of Rs 64,990.
Samsung Series 9

The
latest generation Samsung Series 9 UltraBook was launched only a few
months ago and now it also receives an upgrade to Windows 8. Tech specs
wise, it is an absolute powerhouse with a 14-inch display with a
resolution of 1600×900 pixels, an Intel core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM,
and 256 GB of SSD storage. It has an estimated price of Rs 1,00,000.
Samsung Series 5 UltraBook

The
Series 5 UltraBook is the smaller and more affordable sibling of the
Series 9. That said it features a 13.3-inch touch display, an Intel core
i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 500 GB of hard drive space. It has an
estimated price of Rs 65,000.
Dell Inspiron One

The
Dell Inspiron One is an All-in-one desktop, which has a 23-inch touch
display with a 1080p resolution, a Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM,
and 2 TB of memory. It has an estimated price of Rs 81,990.
HP Envy Touch Smart

The
Envy Touch Smart is HP’s take on an All-in-one PC running Windows 8. It
combines a Blu-ray drive, a 23-inch LED Full HD touch display, 4GB of
RAM, an Intel core i5 processor, and 1TB of memory. It has an estimated
price of Rs 71,990.
The Lenovo A720

Lenovo’s
A720 All-in-one features a large 27-inch touch display with a 1080p
resolution, an Intel Core i7 processor, 4GB of RAM and 1 TB of memory.
It has an estimated price of Rs 1,13,990.

The
Samsung Series 5 All-in-one desktop has a 21.5-inch display, an Intel
Core i5 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 1TB of memory. It has an estimated
price of Rs 60,000.

The
Series 7 All-in-one is basically a larger version of the Series 5 AIO.
It has a 23-inch touch display with 10 multi-touch points, an Intel Core
i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 1 TB hard drive. It has an estimated
price of Rs 74,000.
Sony Vaio T

The
Sony Vaio T is basically a thin and light notebook, which has a
13.3-inch display, an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 500 GB hard
drive and a Memory Stick Pro Duo port. It has an estimated price of Rs
59,990.
Asus Zenbook S400

The
Zenbook S400 is a super slim UltraBook that is in the vain of the
MacBook Air. Of course it runs Windows 8, but it has some powerful
internals. It has an Intel core i7 processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB of hard
drive space and a 14-inch display.
Apart from these devices there will be many more and we are told that
devices running Windows 8 will start from around Rs 24,000, in
particular the Acer A0725.
