Google Drive retains all the functionality of the Android client, while adding features like Optical Character Recognition (OCR) where users can search for text inside images and PDF files. More impressive, though is the ability to search for real world objects inside images and the app is able to detect the queries and index them in a search result. Google showed a demo where a pyramid was the search query and the app plucked out an image with no metadata, which contained a pyramid.
Furthermore, Google announced that the Documents word processor from Google Docs would now work offline inside the browser and would be a fully functional word processor. Google has said that it is working on bringing similar offline capabilities to the Presentation and Spreadsheet apps from Google Docs. Finally, Google announced that Chrome apps would also work locally with apps having access to each and every underlying device API.
