Aircel
today announced that it has cut the price of iPhone 3GS from Rs 19,999
to Rs 9,999. Aircel subscribers can pay an additional Rs 3,000 upfront
to get unlimited data (2G/3G depending on 3G availability in the circle)
for a one year. These are factory unlocked iPhone 3GS units, which
means users can use it on any GSM network.At this price, we believe that the iPhone 3GS would compete with sub-Rs 10,000 Android smartphones. The iPhone 3GS was launched way back in 2009, yet, it will be getting the latest iOS 6 upgrade in fall this year.
