The 7-inch display on the device comes with support for 5 capacitive touch points. Additionally, the device is powered by a 1.2GHz single core X-Burst processor, and features a 2-megapixel front camera and features a HDMI port. Karbonn has equipped the device with a 3,700 mAh battery, through which the device can deliver 8 hours of video playback and 7 hours of internet, claims the company. Karbonn has not revealed the amount of onboard storage but we are guessing it will not be not more than 4GB considering the price point, however the device does support a microSD card slot through which the memory can be further expanded to 32GB.
Karbonn has also added a 3D gravity sensor and also claims that the Smart Tab can handle video in 1080p. It will be interesting to see how the Smart Tab fares against the likes of the Zync Z990 tablet and the Micromax Funbook, both of whom also run Ice Cream Sandwich and are also similarly priced.
